Where to Work in LA

If you work remotely, you know how important it is to find a great public space to work. It needs to have the right light, good (strong) coffee/tea, yummy food, plenty of outlets, and, of course, fast wi-fi.

I've been working remotely in the Santa Monica area for over a year now so I wanted to share my go-to spots.

On the corner of 4th & Broadway, this cafe has super high ceilings and a patio that makes it the best spot for natural light, hands down. On warmer days, they will open up their doors to the patio so there is this nice ocean breeze coming in. There is plenty of room to sit and tons of outlets so you'll never be without power. The wi-fi is probably the faster than any coffee shop you'll find (but not faster than the free wi-fi at The CalEdison in DTLA). The staff are super friendly too. If you're a Capital One cardholder, you get 50% off your order at Peet's Coffee, which is located inside. Enjoy!

Located on Santa Monica Blvd. between 5th & 6th, Philz has amazing (and very strong) coffee. Between the energy and the coffee smell, I love working here. The wi-fi is nothing to gawk at but gets the job done. I will warn you that it is very hard to get a seat but it's worth it to wait a bit for someone to get up!

Rose is an amazing place to draw inspiration from. Their interiors are to die for and the plants they have in the space are so refreshing. They have pretty good wi-fi and their food and drinks are the best. Warning: they do not have outlets so make sure you're charged up before you come to work here! I promise you that it's worth it.
